Major fleet contract for Lex Autolease as Speedy renews05 January 2011

Lex Autolease has renewed its contract with nationwide plant and equipment hire firm Speedy, under a deal worth circa £60 million for cars and vans over the next five years.

The agreement, with the UK's leading provider of equipment rental and support services, will see Lex Autolease supply an anticipated 2,500 vehicles over full five year period.

Paul Kinney, customer relationship manager at Lex Autolease, explains that all vans are being provided under a single badge deal with Ford and are primarily Transit 350 LWB drop sides and Transit Connect panel vans.

"Speedy has been a major customer for over 13 years," comments Kinney. "During that time, we have continually demonstrated added value by driving down costs and enhancing our in-house service offering."

Ian Leonard, director of fleet services at Speedy adds: "Having the right mix of product and fleet management expertise will ensure that we can continue to operate efficiently in a highly competitive market. The combination of Lex Autolease's commercial strength and service excellence gave us the confidence to extend our long-term partnership."
