MAN approves Shell Rimula R6 LME 5W-30 for first fill 27 April 2015

MAN has approved Shell Rimula R6 LME 5W-30 high-performance diesel engine oil as the first fill for its Euro 6 trucks – the German giant’s first exclusive endorsement.

Richard Tucker, Shell's technology general manager for heavy duty engine oils, explains that this oil was developed in collaboration with MAN.

Its LME (low emissions, maintenance saving and energy saving) technology not only delivers fuel economies for fleet operators, claimed at up to 2%, but also meets the durability and performance requirements of Euro 6 low-emissions equipment, with "exclusive low-SAPS technology", he says.

Tucker says the combination of a high-performance additive system and high quality synthetic base oil technology helps provide extra protection against deposits and wear, so allowing extended oil-drain intervals.

"The decision of MAN to endorse this product ... is evidence of its excellent performance in the critical areas of emissions control and fuel economy," he states.
