MAN delivers on £1 million tipper trucks order 22 January 2015

Ipswich-based construction vehicle rental specialist Tippers R Us has spent £1 million bringing eight Euro 6 MAN TGS 35.400 and two TGS 32.400 top-spec eight-wheeler tipper trucks to its fleet.

This is a new venture for businessman Guy Nicholls and he is already looking to double the size of his fleet before the end of this year.

"I have had MAN vehicles in my fleets for other businesses and know the brand," states Nicholls.

"Tippers R Us began with a MAN Euro 5 model from the Top Used range, and that was such a success I decided to go for 10 new Euro 6s," he continues.

"The deal has come in at around £1 million and I am seriously looking to double the fleet before the end of the year."

Nicholls explains that his vehicle rental arm has operated MAN trucks for more than 10 years and adds that his plant hire company Fork Rent – which boasts the largest fleet of JCB telehandlers – is now looking at buying MAN trucks.

All the trucks were specified with MAN's Tipmatic automated gearbox and they have a mix of Thompsons of Blackburn Loadmaster and Loadmaster light bodies – offering 19 tonne payloads – with alloy wheels.

They also have a full set of FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) cameras, side guards and signage, along with LED beacons and reversing lights to ensure safety with other road users.
