MAN Truck to Go is top of the class for haulage firm15 February 2017

Haulage firm 1st Class Transport has taken delivery of its first MAN vehicle, an MAN TGM 18.250BL LX Cab sleeper, delivered within a fortnight of the order through the manufacturer’s Trucks To Go programme.

The TGM is powered by a six-cylinder, 6.8-litre engine, delivering 250bhp at 2,300rpm and driving through a Tipmatic 12-speed transmission.

“At the time of purchase, MAN was offering very competitive prices through Trucks to Go and we have taken the vehicle on a two-year rental,” says Robert Caen, managing director of the Milton Keynes-based operator.

“I have heard very positive feedback about the reliability, efficiency and quality of MAN trucks and it was the right time to add one to our fleet.

“Our local MAN dealer, Ring Road Garage, is located just eight miles down the road and the order to delivery time was just two weeks, including our livery.”

The Trucks to Go rental offer was ideal, says Caen, as it enabled the business to acquire a ready-built truck without standard factory build lead times. A Gold R&M package, meanwhile, ensures “a complete package” with “peace of mind in terms of servicing, tyres and fuel efficiency”.
