Mar-Train managing director Tim Martin says the 85-tonne gvw trailer will be used to transport heavy-duty quarry equipment, including Terex crushers and screeners, around the UK and Europe.
“We keep returning to Andover Trailers because they are always able to supply a trailer built specifically to our needs,” he comments.
“We work within an extremely specialist environment and due to the sheer size of the equipment we move, it’s essential we have a trailer that can stand up to the job.”
The 14.95 metre step frame was specified with a low profile neck and can extend by 2.5m, via two outer box beams, to accommodate longer machines.
It has been equipped with three fixed and two self-tracking steer axles, each manufactured by BPW and rated to 12 tonnes, along with BPW air suspension with raise/lower control for loading and unloading.
Additional features include Andover Trailers’ heavy-duty hydraulic power toe ramps, which allow for a low loading angle, and four heavy-duty hydraulic stabiliser legs.
The trailer also has galvanised side extensions, steel underlays to the beavertail and ramps, a central storage compartment for the side extension timbers, and all round LED lighting.
