Masternaut goes the extra mile for Sport Relief02 February 2016

Masternaut’s telematics technology was put to an unusual use recently, tracking comedian Jo Brand as she completed her Sport Relief challenge, dubbed Jo Brand’s Hell of a Walk.

Millions of people were able to track Jo’s progress as she walked from the east to west coast of the country, from Humber Bridge to Liverpool, in seven days – completing it last Thursday (28 January).

Supporters followed the walk, using an online map which was integrated with Masternaut’s technology. The device was switched off every night and was only in use while the walk took place.

Masternaut has been a long-term supporter of Sport Relief, having previously provided technology for challenges faced by Davina McCall, John Bishop and David Walliams.

Steve Towe, Masternaut’s chief commercial officer and UK managing director, says: “We’re proud to continue our support of such a worthy cause, which transforms the lives of millions of people across the world. We wished Jo all the best with her walk, and we were with her every step of the way.”

“Our technology helped people keep up to date with Jo’s progress, as well as let them know when she’d be passing through certain areas, so it was great to see so many people out supporting her.”
