McGregor Logistics switches to new DAF policy29 October 2019

Transport and warehousing business McGregor Logistics is reporting fuel economy benefits and lower maintenance costs after switching from a used truck policy to new DAF vehicles.

The Doncaster-based operator has upgraded its 75-strong fleet with more than 20 new DAF trucks this year, including LF models from 7.5 to 18 tonnes. All have factory-fitted Paccar curtainsided bodies and tail-lifts.

Supplied by dealer Motus Commercials, in Hull, the new DAFs are supplied with a two-year R&M contract and a third-year driveline warranty. The vehicles are sold on after three years.

Founder Keith Law says the new policy is a winner on several counts, not least reduced maintenance costs.

He adds: “The DAF is a really good truck. We get a steady 8.5mpg plus on heavily loaded runs from our XF tractors and they are reliable with it.

“Also, having the latest trucks means we automatically meet national and regional emissions legislations. And just as important for me as an ex-driver, our drivers like the comfortable DAF cabs and love the fact that they are now getting them brand new. Our drivers look after us, so we try hard to look after them.”
