Mercedes-Benz Citans and Vitos in Miele fleet replacement 09 June 2015

Domestic appliances manufacturer Miele, which is moving over to Mercedes-Benz vans for its service technicians – has completed the first phase of its vehicle replacement programme.

The Reading branch of Mercedes-Benz dealership Rygor has supplied Miele with a fleet of Citan small vans, as well as some mid-sized Vito vans for its commercial engineers, who look after heavy-duty laundry equipment, medical equipment washers and machines used by hospitals and nursing homes, schools, etc.

Racked out by Sortimo, the new vans are all BlueEfficiency vehicles with ECO start/stop, low rolling resistance tyres and alternator and battery management systems.

For the Citan 109 CDI vans, which will form the backbone of the Miele fleet, fuel economy is expected to reach 65.7 mpg with CO2 emissions down to 112 g/km.

"We're delighted to be doing business with Mercedes-Benz," states national fleet service manager Mike Rixon.

"We endeavour to update our vehicles every three years and have resolved to move to an all-Mercedes-Benz fleet at the earliest opportunity," he continues.

"We undertook a lot of research before making this commitment, and it became clear during this process that, in terms of their features and benefits, including the whole-life costs of operation, Mercedes-Benz Vans offers the best value light commercial vehicles on the market."
