Mercedes Benz Zetros makes truck depbut 27 September 2010

Mercedes-Benz heavyweight Zetros, launched at the IAA Show in Hannover, is designed for off-road construction, mining, breakdown, the emergency services and military applications.

The four-wheel drive truck is now available as a two-axle vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 16.5 or 18 tones and a payload (excluding body) of 10 tones, as well as a three-axle vehicle with a maximum of 25 or 27 tones and a payload of 16 tones.

All versions have a 7.2-litre in-line six-cylinder OM 926 LA Euro 5 engine, capable of producing 240kW (326hp) and a maximum torque of 1300Nm between 1,200 and 1,600/rpm.

They are also available with an Allison six-speed fully automatic 3000 Series transmission, with integral retarder, to deliver optimal driving capabilities and reliability under difficult conditions.
