Midlands service centre opens milestone ATF 08 May 2012

Midlands-based Volant PVS has opened the 200th ATF (Authorised Testing Facility), with an open day event at its grounds in Aldridge.

The commercial vehicle ser4vice centre has been awarded a five-year contract to construct and operate the government's HGV and PSV testing station.

The launch event was attended by Alastair Peoples, chief executive of VOSA (the Vehicle and Operators Services Agency), alongside other representatives of VOSA, and Stuart Everard from Everquip, who helped develop the test station.

"Myself and my fellow directors are immensely proud of the facility that we have created," says Matt Shenton, Volant PVS sales director.

"It represents a sizeable financial commitment and adds the finishing touches to what we believe to be the premiere aftermarket service site in the bus and coach industry," he continues.

"We hope that now, with the support of VOSA, we can go on and provide the service that the local HGV and PSV community are craving for in the West Midlands region."

The facility is now open to all customers with any size of vehicle. A new online booking service is to follow soon.
