Milestone for Transit Custom sales04 December 2013

Ford has notched up 10,000 sales of its new Transit Custom in the UK, in the 12 months since its launch.

More than 50% (5,500) of the vehicles have been sold to UK fleet operators, with Kelly Fleet Services placing the biggest order yet of 232 vans.

The new Transit Custom was designed and engineered at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre, Essex – the global centre of excellence for the company's commercial vehicles and powertrain development. It is powered by a 2.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine built at the Ford Dagenham engine plant, Essex.

Features include a load-through hatch in the bulkhead for carrying extra long items. The driver also benefits from the latest Ford technologies like Lane Keeping Alert and Ford SYNC, and the Custom is the only vehicle in its segment to achieve the maximum five-star rating from Euro NCAP.
