MiX Telematics to showcase new technology at Euro Bus Expo18 October 2018

MiX Telematics will be unveiling the latest version of its in-cab driver-coaching device, RIBAS+, at the forthcoming Euro Bus Expo event (NEC, Birmingham: 30 October to 1 November).

The company will also be demonstrating the capabilities of MiX Insight Agility, its performance analysis and improvement tool.

RIBAS+ includes new functionality, developed in conjunction with PCV customers, says MiX. As well as its core driver coaching feature – highlighting instances of over-revving, idling, harsh braking or acceleration, and speeding – the upgraded solution can deliver any event available from CAN inputs to the driver via a new digital display screen (pictured).

These could include safety-related alerts for lane departure or harsh cornering, and preventative maintenance warnings for high engine temperature or low engine oil.

RIBAS+ also gives drivers an end-of-journey safety score. An RFID driver identification option is also included, and RIBAS+ can be integrated with all major ticket machines to provide a single point of driver sign-on.

MiX Insight Agility, meanwhile, gives fleet managers a range of customisable safety, efficiency and compliance dashboards.

“The two solution enhancements we are highlighting at Euro Bus Expo 2018 form part of our commitment to support the industry as it makes the transition to more sustainable operations,” says Jonathan Bates, marketing director for MiX Telematics Europe.

“The range of services we provide today extends into the development of enhancements such as scripts, which allow the integration of electric and hybrid vehicle information into our telematics solutions.”
