Montracon shows its mettle at TIP-ex09 May 2016

Trailer manufacturer Montracon has announced that it will be unveiling a new heavy-duty steel tipper at next month’s TIP-ex event (Harrogate International Centre; 2-4 June).

The 313m (40.53yd) ‘half pipe’ steel tipper is the culmination of a two-year design project in conjunction with steel company SSAB.

Said to be suitable for many sectors, from metals recycling to aggregates, the tipper uses Hardox450 steel for the tailgate, floor rails, bulkhead and body panels, while Strenx 700MC is used for the reinforced pressings.

Mounted on a tri-axle bogie, the trailer is plated for operation at 44 tonnes gcw.

High-end tipping gear comes as standard, says Montracon, and various build and equipment options – including on-board weighing kit – are available either as retro or on-line fit.
