More Nissan vans to drive British Gas fleet 14 January 2013

Nissan has delivered 138 of its Primastar vans to bolster British Gas' service fleet – 80 for the home services division and the remaining 58 for its business services.

The short and long wheelbase vans are all being equipped with internal racking to house engineers' tools and parts, as well as a telematics system.

The deal follows British Gas trial of the Nissan e-NV200 last year, as part of its ambition to switch 10% of its 14,000 LCV fleet to electric power over the next three years.

"We're delighted with the new Primastars and the conversion work to fit racking, telematics and striking liveries," comments British Gas general fleet manager Colin Marriott.

"Throughout this deal the professional support from Nissan has been excellent and they are now proving to be a serious LCV fleet manufacturer," he continues.

"The e-NV200 trial was a success and we're happy to continue to build our relationship with Nissan with these new Primastars."
