More safety features for Isotrak telematics 16 August 2013

Vehicle tracking and telematics secialist Isotrak has announced new features aimed at improving road safety and driving standards.

Its innovations include EBS (electronic braking system) integration, in-cab camera interfaces and a driver feedback panel (DFP).

Alan Gunner, sales and marketing director at Isotrak explains that in-cab cameras will provide video evidence of driver behaviour, as well as recording events. Fleet managers will have high-resolution, date and time stamped images for any point of the journey, showing how a vehicle was being driven immediately prior to an incident.

Meanwhkle, the Isotrak EBS module interfaces with a trailer's EBS to provide real-time operational information, including speed and odometer readings, for back office systems.

"For fleet operators, monitoring and managing driver behaviour is extremely important and they are constantly looking for additional tools to help with continuous improvement," comments Gunner.

"That, in turn, makes for increasing the safety of the operation," he adds.
