New axle technology on show in the UK22 April 2014

Heavy haulage trailer manufacturer Goldhofer will be bringing its MPA Troika axle to the UK, showcasing it at events around the country, starting with the CV Show (NEC, Birmingham, 29 April to 1 May).

With its suspension stroke of 315mm, plus a choice of individual ride heights and a steering angle up to 60 degrees, the new axle is claimed to deliver easier handling and increased flexibility.

MPA Troika also has only one wheel carrier, one strut and one suspension arm. Goldhofer says this stripped-back design delivers improved durability and low kerb weight.

It also reduces maintenance, while the independent axles allow the trailer to handle uneven surfaces.

At the CV Show, the MPA Troika will be seen fitted to Goldhofer's STZ-MPA low-loader, with the new Mercedes-Benz Arocs three-axle tractor unit.

Andover Trailers is sole distributor in the UK. Sales director Ivan Collins says it is "an exciting development" and adds: "The roadshows give us the opportunity to demonstrate to customers how the technology works first-hand."

As well as the CV Show, the product will be on show at: ScotPlant, Edinburgh (25-26 April); Truckfest, Peterborough (4-5 May); and Vertikal Days, Haydock Park (14-15 May).
