New Eurocargo to debut at Freight in the City Expo 08 October 2015

The new Iveco Eurocargo rigid is to make its UK debut at London’s Freight in the City Expo, on 27 October at Alexandra Palace.

Iveco says the new medium truck will be the star of its sustainable vehicle showcase at the event, following the launch of its latest generation in Italy.

Dubbed ‘the truck the city likes’, it is being offered with new four-cylinder (160 and 190bhp) plus a range of 4.5 litre four-cylinder and 6.7 litre six-cylinder engines, with the Tector series now delivering seven power levels from 160-320bhp.

All use Iveco’s HI-SCR (high efficiency selective catalytic reduction) technology with passive DPF (diesel particulate filter) and no EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).

Iveco’s new Eurocargo can also be specified with a CNG (compressed natural gas) engine, claimed to be 5dB quieter than diesel equivalents.

Natural gas also emits 10% less CO2, 35% less NOx and 95 less particulates, making it an attractive proposition for urban distribution.

Iveco is also majoring on its tight turning circle – which at just under 11m for the 2,790mm wheelbase version, is another winner for city streets—and improved driver visibility of vulnerable road users.
