New group service manager for Mercedes in Northern Ireland02 February 2017
Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van (NI) has appointed Rab Jackson as group service manager, with responsibility for repair and maintenance at its 24-hour Newtonabbey workshop and Dungannon branch.
Jackson (pictured) served his technician apprenticeship on heavy construction equipment, before joining a Swedish truck franchisee, where he remained for more than 30 years.
However, he says, joining Mercedes has been a long-held ambition and adds: “There’s no doubt in my mind that the Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Vans ranges are the finest on the market.”
The workshop facilities are “second to none”, he says, adding: “We’re particularly strong when it comes to vans, but there are definitely growth opportunities within the heavy vehicle segment.
“My focus has always been on providing operators with the best possible support, and on restricting vehicle downtime to an absolute minimum. I am very customer-facing, and already talking daily to those who rely on Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van (NI) to keep their trucks and vans out on the road and earning.”
