New MD for Volvo Trucks UK and Ireland23 November 2018

Volvo Trucks has announced that Robert Grozdanovski will take over from Arne Knaben as managing director for UK and Ireland.

Swedish-born Grozdanovski, 51, is currently vice president for the truck group in central east Europe, with responsibility for both the Volvo and Renault truck brands. He takes up his new role on 1 January 2019 and will be based at the Warwick HQ.

He began his Volvo career in 1997 with Volvo Bus, subsequently holding various senior management roles within the central and Eastern European region of Volvo Trucks, before becoming general manager of Volvo Group Trucks in the Czech Republic until 2015.

Arne Knaben moves to Gothenburg to become vice president for hub MEENA (Middle East, East & North Africa).

Grozdanovski will report to Roger Alm, senior VP of Volvo Trucks Europe sales area, who says: “His understanding of the business and the long experience from retail operations, together with an extensive network at the Sweden headquarters, will be further assets when Volvo Trucks takes the next step in developing the UK market.”

Grozdanovski says: “I can see the solid development of Volvo Trucks’ position in both countries under Arne Knaben’s leadership and I’m eager to learn and continue developing our presence and support in both markets to make our customers in UK and Ireland even more successful in the future – especially with all the challenges and uncertainty that Brexit will undoubtedly bring.”
