New refrigeration unit for long-haul operations11 November 2013

Carrier Transicold has completed its line-up of refrigeration units with the launch of the Vector 1350, designed for long-haul transportation.

The lightweight, 12,700W unit is designed to optimise capacity and payload, while maintaining temperature over long distances. The Vector 1350 features a 1.1-litre engine, designed to cut fuel consumption by up to 30% compared with Carrier's Maxima unit, and which drives both a compressor and a generator to power the ventilation system. Three electric fans boost system reliability by reducing the number of belts needed.

At 643kg, the Vector 1350 is up to 17% lighter than competitive units, enabling operators to carry larger payloads. It also offers a new, user-friendly control interface with dedicated buttons and universal symbols, making operation easy regardless of language.

The Vector 1350 has been designed to provide maximum cold chain protection and carries 27% less refrigerant than its predecessor, thanks to a microchannel condenser coil.
