New solution offers fleet managers remote control of mobile phones31 January 2014

EyesUp has launched a solution to prevent illegal mobile phone use, by disabling a driver's mobile phone or other nominated communication devices when the vehicle begins to move.

Call FleetSafer, the solution is deployed directly to a mobile phone or tablet. The FleetSafer web portal provides fleet managers with a single point for configuration, management and analysis, including reports on use and non-conformance.

Once deployed, the mobile device will be disabled within 45 seconds of the vehicle moving off.

A 'passenger' button is displayed, which allows FleetSafer to be deactivated and all applications to be used – the fleet manager will be notified when this occurs.

The system can be configured to allow certain applications, such as navigation or Bluetooth, to remain active.

FleetSafer allows drivers to make emergency calls at any time.

Bristol-based EyesUp is offering a free 21-day trial of the solution: call 01761 451066.
