NGC Logistics makes switch to electric for Black Friday deliveries09 December 2019

NGC Logistics has taken delivery of a full-electric Renault Master Red Edition ZE van for use on its contract with Amazon.

Supplied by dealer Allports Group, the West Bromwich-based operator’s new addition arrived in time to make its first delivery for last month’s Black Friday event.

The 3.1 tonne Master ZE L2H2 panel van is operating from Amazon’s Northampton depot and is making the same number of deliveries as its diesel-powered counterparts.

In NGC’s new electric blue livery, the Master ZE is powered by Renault’s all-electric 57kW ZE engine with 33kWh lithium-ion battery and automatic gearbox, offering a range of up to 120km.

This is the first of four Master ZEs to join NGC’s mixed fleet of 50 Renault vans, rigids and tractors.

NGC’s operations director Kevin Savage says: “With the ever-increasing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles and the introduction of more low emission zones, we decided to not only invest in electric vehicles but also to set ourselves a challenging deadline of a Black Friday launch to market.”
