Norbert Dentressangle takes Renaults for mpg 20 September 2013

Norbert Dentressangle has taken 13 new Renault trucks from BRS for its Mitsubishi Electric contract, following fuel returns of more thsn 13mpg on a Renault Midlum demonstrator.

BRS supplied five Renault Premium 270.18 4x2 rigids, five Midlum 270.18 and three Midlum 180.08, all with Optitronic automated gearboxes, on a five-year R&M contract. They are being used on nationwide, multi-drop and next day distribution.

"We chose the Optitronic automated transmission [because of] the excellent fuel economy we recorded with a Renault Midlum 18-tonne demonstrator in July 2012, which increased our fuel returns by 7%," states Peter Firm, contract manager for Norbert Dentressangle.

The company now has an additional 40 Renault Midlums on order, through BRS, for delivery later in the year.
