Oakwood marks anniversary with new trucks from Ryder12 June 2017

Oakwood Fuels has taken delivery of two 44-tonne DAF trucks, supplied on five-year contract hire through Ryder.

The trucks are both CF460 6x2 vehicles with Space cabs and AS Tronic transmissions, and they are the first to carry Oakwood’s special livery to mark its 20th year in business.

The operator collects hazardous waste, including oils, from the motor vehicle sector. They are transported to a facility in Nottinghamshire, where waste oils are converted into a heavy fuel oil substitute, or exported to European refineries for further processing.

Oakwood’s new vehicles are delivering processed fuel oil across the UK, and are equipped with specialist PTO and hydraulic kit.

Michael Sneath, Oakwood’s general manager, says Ryder was chosen for its UK-wide coverage and “excellent back-up” service.
