Office equipment business documents 40% efficiency boost with telematics25 April 2014

Stationery and office equipment supplier Office Essentials has documented a 40% improvement in fleet efficiency since adopting Masternaut's telematics solution.

The Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts-based business decided to implement the system to gain more control over costs, routing, fuel and improve driver behaviour – and reports wins in all these areas.

The company used to rely on paper-based call sheets from sales reps, but automated printouts now give managers accurate and timely information on visits. Driver behaviour has improved, thanks to the system's alerts for issues such as speeding, and scheduling has cut fuel use and saved time, so boosting service levels.

Garry Baker, operations director for Office Essentials, says ease of use of the Masternaut system was a key factor in his decision. "We wanted a tool which we could easily roll-out across the business, allowing us to quickly begin to reap the benefits.

"And it's worked - we've had a great return on investment, with the solution saving us money on fuel and improving our customer service by making our fleet more efficient."
