OmniServ Heathrow transfers tyres to ATS Euromaster 13 August 2015

Airport terminal transfer service firm OmniServ has contracted ATS Euromaster to handle tyre management for its fleet of 28 passenger transfer buses at Heathrow Airport.

Under the contract, ATS Euromaster will carry out all tyre services, including regular checks, turning on the rim and tyre husbandry – and as part of the deal has moved OmniServ to a complete Michelin tyre policy.

"We transport more than 250,000 passengers a month, so we need as little downtime as possible," comments Ian Mitchell, transport and general manager, OmniServ.

"We've selected ATS Euromaster as our tyre management partner because we know we will get a very high quality service that keeps our vehicles in operation for longer."

Michelin has already conducted a weighing exercise on OmniServ's vehicles to ensure that all tyres are running as efficiently as possible, says Mitchell.

OmniServ now has custom pressure recommendations for all its buses to minimise tyre wear and improve fuel consumption.

"This not only reduces tyre-related downtime, but also running costs, thanks to a Michelin tyre policy, regular tyre husbandry, and fleet inspections," states Ricky Mitchell, area sales manager, ATS Euromaster.

The contract is supported by ATS Euromaster's Hounslow centre, where staff and vehicles have airside clearance and experience of operating at Heathrow Airport.

"The level of support we get from ATS Euromaster will help us challenge for more business across the UK and we hope our partnership will bear further fruits in the future," states Mitchell.
