Optare strikes gold with Solo deal down under30 July 2014

Bus and coach manufacturer Optare recently hosted a visit to its Leeds production facility from the owners of Donric Group, an Australian bus and coach operator.

Donric has extended its 360-strong fleet with two Optare Solo SRs, to be operated by Gold Bus, part of the group.

The vehicles will operate as special education school buses, in partnership with the Department for Education in Victoria, serving a specialist school.

Peter McKenzie, chief executive of the Donric Group, praised the vehicle's design, with low floors giving easy access for wheelchairs.

He adds: "Optare's selection of well-known global brands in the Solo's driveline adds to the maintainability of the vehicles, and their performance in high temperatures was also another deciding factor in choosing the Solo."
