Parker teams up with distributor BSP to open first UK truck hydraulic centre 10 September 2020

The new ‘one-stop truck shop’ in Normanton, West Yorkshire is a partnership between supplier Parker Hannifin and long-term distributor BSP Hydraulics.

The partners will provide high-quality truck parts, repairs, and diagnostic services. This includes expert support for construction, waste management, agricultural, bulk transport, and passenger vehicles.

BSP Hydraulics has recruited a new store manager to run the service. The distributor has also invested £50,000 in the venture.

Martyn Allen, Parker’s distribution manager for the UK and Ireland, said it was the first certified truck store in the UK and the EMEA region.

BSP Hydraulics managing director Douglas Conyers said: “Some people might think this is an unusual time to launch a new store, but heavy-duty trucks, buses and refuse vehicles all provide vital services to communities across the region and beyond. And with many modern fleets under pressure to reduce emissions, cut downtime and increase profitability, it’s important that vehicles are professionally serviced and maintained.

“Our Normanton base is conveniently placed to help local businesses keep their vehicles running efficiently. Whether customers need a single part or a complex system, we’re here to support them. Our on-site diagnostic and repairs service can help spot problems that might lead to downtime and expensive repairs further down the line. And as an authorised stockist of genuine Parker products, we’re selling industry-leading components.”
