R Turner improves driver safety, cuts costs with Lytx 17 February 2015

Ely-based haulier R Turner (Haulage) has gone live with Lytx’s driver safety programme across its 50-strong fleet, without wasting time on trials.

Fleet engineer Paul Davison explains that he could see instant benefits with Lytx, in terms of both its technology and its experience.

"Our top priority for the last year was to introduce a video event recording system to our fleet, but we initially found it challenging to find a cost-effective and efficient way to implement the technology, without burdening our fleet managers with large quantities of data," states Davison.

"Lytx's experience and user-friendly implementation appealed to us as we knew we could achieve instant results by using the video clips to coach drivers – something we had not done in the past," he continues.

"We were also able to negotiate a subsidy to our insurance premium as a result of having the cameras installed," he adds.

Lytx's video-driven coaching programme claims to improve driver performance and prevent collisions – reducing costs by between 50—80%, according to Paul Jones, Lytx Europe's vice president and general manager.

"The road is a dangerous environment, so we are delighted that R Turner (Haulage) has taken the positive step of rapidly implementing Lytx technology to ensure that its drivers get home safely," he says.
