Supplied by dealer JDS Trucks, of Blackburn, on a five-year lease, the new addition’s curtainside body is by TruckCraft Bodies and it has an Anteo tail-lift, and it joins a 20-strong truck fleet.
“We selected the Range D specifically because it is well-liked by – and suited to – our customer’s operations,” says Mike Leyland, owner of the Cumbria-based operator.
“They run them and like the 18-tonners, so we have gone with their recommendation as well as on our own positive experiences with used Renault trucks.”
The Range D specification includes air conditioning, automatic engine cut-off, leather steering wheel, air-suspended driver’s seat with heated cushion and seatback, roof deflector and cruise control.
It also has a Global Cab and fold-down bunk, giving the driver the option to sleep over should they get delayed on a job.
“Our drivers gave us great feedback on the used Renault trucks, but I think they will be even more impressed when they hit the road in the new vehicle,” says Leyland. “It’s got everything they need for a productive and comfortable life on the road.
“In fact we are so happy with the Range D we will soon be adding a Renault Trucks Master van to the fleet, too.”
