Reliability and aftersales sparks new deal for VW Crafter vans05 January 2016

Northern Ireland Electricity Networks has extended its 400-strong fleet with 28 Crafter vans from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, citing vehicle reliability and aftersales support as reasons for the deal.

The company has a longstanding partnership with VW Commercial Vehicles and the latest additions are Crafter CR35 MWB panel vans, chosen for their load space, rear-wheel drive option and ability for bespoke conversion.

“It was the reliability and the first-rate aftersales service offered by Volkswagen which helped to make it an easy decision when it came to replacing vehicles on the fleet,” says David Corry, supply chain and fleet manager, NIE Networks.

The company manages 47,000km of overhead and underground cables delivering electricity to 850,000 homes and businesses across Northern Ireland. The Crafter vans will be used within the connections side of the business; a number will also be in service as emergency response vehicles.
