Renault Premiums head to Robsons, courtesy of BRS 16 August 2013

CV contract hire company BRS has supplied 15 new Renault Premiums to ambient and temperature controlled haulage company Robsons of Spalding.

The 460.25 6x2 tractor units have been supplied under full R&M contracts over a four-year period and are the latest additions to the company's all-Renault fleet.

Chris Beeby, commercial director at BRS says all the new vehicles have been fitted with monitoring devices to help manage fuel consumption more efficiently.

He says that Renault's Optifuel demonstrated that fuel savings can be made through improving driver behaviour. "This developed into a full telematics solution, supplied by Microlise," he explains.

"We are big Renault fans and since taking our first new Premiums in 2004, have added 75 Renault trucks, replacing Scania, DAF, MAN and Iveco, to become a 100% Renault fleet," comments Tim Robson, chief executive of Robsons.

"The main factor [for the choice] is that the Renault Premium delivers exactly what we require from a tractor unit, in terms of reliability, quality, build, driveline and fuel economy – at the desired cost."
