Renault shows off Twizy CV variant26 June 2013

There's a new light commercial vehicle on the Renault fleet – the all-electric Twizy Cargo, which swaps the rear tandem seat behind the driver for a boot with a lockable door.

Following several successes in the commercial world, including with the emergency and postal services, Renault will now offer a single-seat version with a 180-litre storage area.

The integrated boot area is capable of accepting loads up to 75kg, with the door opening out to 90°. Renault says the vehicle is ideal for companies offering callout or support services, with the load area taking a set of tools securely and safely.

Twizy Cargo has a range of around 50 miles. Once at its destination its charge can be topped up by using a standard three-pin plug. Full charge takes three and a half hours, and costs around one pound.

Like its larger electric brother, Renault's Kangoo Van ZE, it also provides businesses with the opportunity to showcase their green credentials, using a zero-emission vehicle.
