Renault Trucks accelerates apprentice intake for 201623 December 2015

Renault Trucks UK has followed up its recent awards to 2014 and 2015 apprentices with an announcement that it is to create an additional 30 apprenticeships as part of its 2016 scheme expansion.

“We are delighted to be able to support an additional 30 recruits keen to take this route, which will bring the total number of apprentices in the programme to 97,” says Nigel Butler, Renault Trucks’ UK commercial director.

The organisation delivers government-funded apprenticeships, in conjunction with Stephenson College, for the UK dealer network. There are six key programmes comprising heavy vehicle technician, heavy vehicle trailer technician, parts consultant, business administration, service advisor and light/heavy commercial vehicle sales.

All apprentices are directly employed within the Renault Trucks dealer network in workshops across the UK and attend block release sessions at the college.

Graduates from the past two years were recognised recently, at the Renault Trucks UK apprentice awards, held at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth.

Alex Morrison (pictured) of Thompsons Commercials Hull was crowned winner of the 2014 apprentice of the year catgory, while the 2015 title went to Mark Edwards of SP Holdings, of Telford.
