That said, the association says its policy team and experts will be on-hand to discuss industry issues, including the driver shortage, cycle safety, congestion and the impact of the Calais migrant crisis.
Also, RHA’s new She’s RHA initiative will be promoted, building on the recent launch event, which saw 71 ladies attending, with an address by RHA board member and partner at Freightlink Europe Lesley O’Brien (pictured), followed by consultant Charlotte Sweeney and conservative MP Andrea Jenkins – whose father was a haulier.
Meanwhile, as part of its push to tackle the CV driver shortage, the RHA in association with Dunlop, will be launching the 2016 HGVHeroes campaign – aimed at attracting more people into an HGV driving career.
Visitors to the stand will have the chance to pit their remote control truck racing skills against the best, with daily HGV Hero winners and an overall champion being corwned.
RHA says this initiative is about redefining the driving profession and addressing the issue of insurance premiums for young drivers, while also simplifying the qualification process and tackling the lack of adequate and secure roadside facilities.
