Rise to the technician skills challenge, urges IRTE 07 February 2013

Bus and coach technicians wanting to enter the IRTE Skills Challenge 2013 have until the end of February 2013 to enter.

With technician teams already entered from bus operators including Arriva, FirstGroup, Go-Ahead, Mansfield District Council, Reading, Translink and the MOD, up to take on the challenge, 2013's competition looks set to be the best yet.

The competition covers electrical, mechanical and bodywork tests, with practical elements based on IRTE's technician licensing scheme irtec.

Entry to the IRTE Skills Challenge is free and, with nine awards from Halfords Trade up for grabs, including categories to recognise the best apprentice in each discipline, there's something for everyone.

Sponsored by Allison Transmission, BAE Systems, Bridgestone, Knorr-Bremse and Shell, IRTE Skills Challenge 2013 will take place at S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol from 29 May to 7 June 2013.
