Robert Walker Haulage lifts capability with four new Cartwright trailers26 October 2015

Forklift truck specialist Robert Walker Haulage has ordered four new curtainsider step frame trailers from Cartwright to transport forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment around the UK.

A longstanding customer of Cartwright, the Stockport-based operator’s latest order includes several special features.

The rear section of the trailers opens to accommodate forklifts up to 8ft wide. The beavertail slopes gradually and has a double folding hydraulic double ramp attached to it, to give a 6.5 degree maximum loading.

A heavy-duty winch in the bulkhead enables the driver to load machinery that may have broken down, and a sliding roof facilitates the loading of tall masted forklift trucks.

The company can move any type of mechanical handling equipment up to 25 tonnes. Each trailer is meshed throughout and decking is included.

Neil Walker, managing director of Robert Walker Haulage, says: “Our relationship with Cartwright is extremely good and goes back for over half a century. Indeed the bulk of our trailer fleet is Cartwright built.

“Their after sales service is excellent, which is not always the case with a lot of trailer manufacturers.”
