RTITB hosts data protection seminar23 February 2018

RTITB is hosting a seminar to help logistics and transport training providers ensure that they comply with the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The event takes place on 8 March at the RTITB headquarters in Telford, West Midlands, and will be run by data protection specialist Helena Wootton from law firm Browne Jacobson.

The new law comes into effect on 25 May and applies to anyone who collects, uses and stores personal data, either electronically or in paper filing systems. As training providers collect personal data from the trainee, the new law considers them a ‘data controller’ or ‘data processor’, depending on how this data is used.

The three-hour seminar will cover the background to GDPR and what this means to training providers, as well as sanctions and liability, and the practical steps that businesses can take towards compliance.

Tickets cost £15 plus VAT, including refreshments and a light lunch.

To book a place, call 01952 520218 or email marketing@rtitb.co.uk.
