Rushlift raises efficiency of airport equipment maintenance23 October 2018

Rushlift’s ground support equipment (GSE) division is using bespoke wireless mobile column lifts, from TotalKare, to maintain equipment at Gatwick Airport.

TotalKare’s engineers designed infill plates and drive-on ramps for its T8DC lifts, enabling Rushlift to use the same set of lifts for virtually all the equipment it maintains, including tugs and tractors and passenger boarding steps and stairs.

“Being able to develop a specific solution has made a massive difference to the way we are able to run our workshop, giving us the ability to carry out jobs that we were unable to do with conventional column lifts,” says David Syme, supervisor at Rushlift, which has been part of the Doosan Group since 2015.

“It has made our technicians’ day-to-day jobs much easier and safer as we have virtually unrestricted accesses to the underside of our vehicles. Service times have also improved within the workshop as it is now so much easier to maintain the vehicles.”

The lifts are supplied with the AfterKare service contract.
