Ryder expands FleetCare operation with investment in Devizes 21 May 2020

Commercial vehicle rental, contract hire, and maintenance services business Ryder is expanding its Devizes operations and creating new local employment opportunities within its FleetCare business of a network of approved commercial vehicle workshops.

The company says: “Our customers tell us that the complexity of keeping their fleet compliant is the main reason that they look to outsource their maintenance. As with any Ryder location, all service, repair records, certificates and inspection sheets are electronically filed and retrievable via our FleetCare Online tool, giving you the ability to manage your compliance, analyse your fleet costs and reduce internal administration.”

Devizes is said to be a key operational centre for supporting the company’s 20,000 rental and leased vans, trucks and trailers with nationwide maintenance support, a 24/7 national breakdown service, and a large team of qualified maintenance and service technicians, engineers and customer service co-ordinators.

Ryder has recently invested in a substantial refurbishment and telecommunications upgrade of its Devizes location to accommodate the expansion of its FleetCare operations. With a team of more than 100 already based in Devizes, the company is recruiting an additional 25 new roles. These new office-based roles include compliance and customer service administrators, maintenance controllers, maintenance engineers, and a FleetCare supervisor.
