Ryder upgrades trailer rental fleet with 350 new units31 July 2015

Ryder is updating its rental trailer fleet with 350 new trailers from Cartwright and Schmitz Cargobull, comprising 200 EN12642XL rated pillarless curtainside trailers, 50 box trailers and 100 single compartment fridge trailers.

"Our latest investment ... will ensure that Ryder maintains its leadership position in trailer rental with an extensive range of options for customers, including numerous tri-axle dry freight configurations, plus single and twin compartment fridge options supplied with Carrier Vector units," comments David Hunt, vice president and managing director Ryder Europe.

Hunt makes the pont that Ryder is one of the largest trailer operators in the UK, having some 7,500 assets.

The firm also runs a dedicated trailer team, providing comprehensive support to help operators in their choice of trailer specification and rental option.
