Scania builds £6m dealership facility in Kent21 January 2015

Truck, bus and coach manufacturer Scania is investing £6 million in a new purpose-built dealership site near Maidstone, Kent. Building work is underway and the facility is scheduled to open in January 2016.

Based on the same design as Scania's latest site in Brussels, the 2.5-acre Maidstone facility has planning consent for 24-hour operation. It will feature five drive-through workshop bays and a DVSA Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) lane.

The premises will be home to new and used truck operations, as well as truck rental, and will offer parts and components for vehicles and trailers.

"From exceptional working conditions to the very latest specialist tools and diagnostic equipment, to automatic lighting, an in-house recycling station, a sustainable water drainage system and photovoltaic roof panels, this site will have it all," says Adrian Inscoe, regional executive director for Scania.
