Scania extends truck rental portfolio with new tippers 07 March 2012

Scania Truck Rental, the wholly-owned commercial vehicle rental operation of Scania (GB), has extended its portfolio with the addition of 32-tonne gross vehicle weight tipper/grabs to its nationwide fleet.

The new vehicles are all day-cab Scania P 400 CB8x4MHZ models, with Scania's DC13-05 engine, which delivers 400bhp and 2,100Nm torque. The transmission fitted is Scania's eight-speed GR905 range-change unit.

Each vehicle has an all-Hardox steel construction 12.5m3 Abba Commercials Predator body, equipped with Edbro underfloor stabilised tipping gear and an Epsilon Palfinger M125L 8.3m reach grab.

Additional items fitted include air-conditioning, a reversing camera, remote central locking, beacon bar, ram brackets and electric mirrors.

"The addition of tippers to our fleet is to satisfy the growing demand we are seeing for construction vehicles," comments Scania Truck Rental general manager Steve Martin.

"Rental offers an ideal solution for operators that require vehicles right now but are not currently looking to invest in new product," he adds.

"Available nationwide, the vehicles we offer, which are premium quality, high specification models built and equipped to withstand the rigours of the most arduous on-off road operation, can be hired for any period from 28 days to 23 months."
