Scania sees growth in fuel supply tanker industry04 October 2011

A total of more than 100 new Scania fuel tankers have entered service recently, with repair and maintenance via the Scania UK dealer network.

The latest tanker additions include 37 petroleum tractors and tanker trailers for ASDA, three on Eddie Stobart's latest tanker initiative and 23 for Morrisons (with a further 22 now on order).

As for Scania tractor units, BP Fuels has taken 16 petroleum tractors and Conoco has five, while Humberside-based Rix Petroleum has taken 17 rigid tankers.

"The reason more fuel supply operators are turning to Scania is that we are able to provide a comprehensive one-stop service covering vehicle supply and maintenance for both our Pet regs trucks and the tanks they haul," insists Mark Grant, aftersales director for Scania (GB).

"This service is delivered via our nationwide network of specialist ADR Pet regs service centres, which provide not only the truck-related repair and maintenance services you would expect from Scania, but also a complete tanker support service," he explains.

Grant adds that all Scania ADR and Pet regs tanker testing is carried out in conjunction with its competent authority partners in accordance with the Safe Loading Pass and HSE codes of practice.
