Scottish irtec convention sees mock public inquiry 02 June 2015

A mock public inquiry, presided over by traffic commissioner Joan Aitken, will headline the Scottish irtec convention, taking place alongside Truckfest Scotland on the morning of Saturday 1 August 2015.

Panel sessions will follow on subjects ranging from WVTA (whole vehicle type approval) to Euro 6 SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and the pros and cons of drum and disc trailer brakes.

Ian Smith, of Gray & Adams, will cover the implications of WVTA; Scania will present technical issues around SCR; and BPW engineering manager Roger Thorpe will consider trailer braking, drawing on the firm's experience with its 3,000 combinations of axle and suspension specifications.

The event will also witness the presentation to IRTE Scotland's Young Engineer of the Year award.

The Brigade Electronics sponsored convention, taking place in Highland Hall, at Ingliston Showground, is open to IRTE members, irtec accredited technicians and fleet engineers working with road haulage operators.

Those wishing to attend the convention should apply by email to: irtecconvention@irtec.org.uk

Applications will be capped at 100 and delegates will also receive a free full-day ticket for Truckfest Scotland.
