SIG takes delivery of new MAN TGL 12-tonner 13 February 2015

Scotland’s only independent industrial gas supplier SIG has taken delivery of a MAN TGL 12.220 4x2 BB rigid for cellar and industrial gas cylinder deliveries.

This 12-tonner is the first MAN truck and the first Euro 6 vehicle at the company, which is part of the Dixons of Westerhope Group, in Newcastle.

The truck, which was supplied with a four-year R&M package, has bodywork by CVC and was specified with a Del tail-lift.

"The 12-tonne model is ideal for our requirements, offering good payload while at the same time providing all the manoeuvrability advantages of a 7.5 tonner," comments SIG industrial gases manager Marc Dixon.

"Initial feedback from drivers is very positive," he continues, adding that they say the MAN truck is more manoeuvrable around town.

And Dixon also says he is impressed with the dealer support: "The team at MAN Truck & Bus Gateshead are very reliable and efficient."

The vehicle is now operating out of SIG's Glasgow depot.
