Somerstotalkare supplies cable-free lifts to Dorset14 April 2011

Heavy duty mobile vehicle lifts provider Somerstotalkare has supplied three sets of four S6CF cable-free lifts to Dorset County Council.

The council runs more than 500 vehicles, ranging from small trucks to articulated tractor and trailer combinations, which require maintenance in its workshops.

"We carry out inspections, repairs and servicing at the Dorset depot and wanted to install long lasting, reliable lifting equipment," comments the council's deputy vehicle maintenance manager, Martin Downton.

"We currently use cabled mobile vehicle lifts from various suppliers, which we plan to replace over the coming years with the S6CF mobile vehicle lifts," he adds.

After evaluating various lifts, Downton explains that the S6CF offered the best in wireless technology, with flexible and safe lifting and reduced maintenance.

"The wireless lifts give us total flexibility with our working practices. We have also eliminated the trip hazard we had with the cabled units," he says.
