Spanish fuel distributor relies on Blackmer TX pumps03 July 2019

Madrid’s largest fuel distributor Reques e Hijos says Blackmer’s TX Series pumps are its preferred truck-mounted and loading bay units, delivering durability and reliability for its heating oil and diesel distribution operation.

The operator’s 30-strong fleet is kitted out with the TX Series sliding vane pumps, along with Cetil Dispensing Technology’s metering equipment and systems.

“We started mounting Blackmer pumps on our trucks in 1993,” says Angel Reques Jr, director of the company, which distributes fuel for Repsol.

“We have tried other brands over the years ... but I prefer the TX pumps because they are very robust, very reliable, they last very, very long and we can trust them in almost every situation.”

The TX Series pumps feature a sliding vane operation, which self-adjusts for wear and maintains flow rates; dual-end shafts for easy installation; mechanical seal and ball-bearing construction for reliability. They also have a symmetrical bearing support, adjustable relief valves, and enable easy vane replacement without needing to take the pump out of service.

“One of the things we appreciate most from Blackmer pumps is their high reliability in winter,” adds Reques.

“Because heating oil is 70% of our turnover in the winter months, we need pumps that don’t break and that we can trust during this very busy time for us.”

Reques concludes: “We pump a lot of litres a year, so we need something very trustworthy. We are very happy with Blackmer pumps and we will continue using these pumps for many years.”

Blackmer is a brand of US pump manufacturer PSG.
