Spirit of everywoman Award goes to Isuzu’s Nikki King 20 May 2013

Isuzu Truck's managing director Nikki King OBE has become the first recipient of the Spirit of everywoman Award, in recognition of the contribution she has made to the commercial vehicle industry over 25 years.

King received the award, under the FTA everywoman in Transport and Logistics scheme, from Karen Gill MBE and Maxine Benson MBE, co-founders of everywoman, at the awards ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London.

"Nikki's undoubted passion, dedication, determination and leadership style have not only made her an industry pioneer, but also a role model for all women in business," said Benson.

"Throughout her career she has always maintained that women have so much to offer the workplace, not least in the male-dominated world of transport and logistics," she added.

"I am so shocked and honoured to receive this award: it is totally unexpected" commented King.

"I feel I have been so lucky in my career to have had the support of great women – and men – who have helped me to evolve Isuzu Truck UK into the successful company it has become in a very competitive marketplace."
