Stoneridge announces Apps for Android users31 October 2012

Stoneridge Electronics has released two free apps that allow Android smartphone users to use the company's Duo technology while on the move.

The first, Duo Mobile can turn your smartphone into a second Duo display, providing a real-time overview of daily, weekly and monthly drive, break and rest times.

Automatic countdowns to break or daily rest periods are aimed at helping drivers to plan their journeys ahead, and Stoneridge believes this facility will make fleets and drivers more efficient.

The second app is dubbed Tacho Center, enabling drivers to download digital tachograph data wirelessly from any EU Type Approved digital tachograph.

Drivers can choose between a full download and the most recent data, which they can either email to a PC or send straight to Stoneridge's OPTAC3 analysis software.

One useful feature: Tacho Center also reminds drivers when data is due for download.

Both apps are available on Google Play and are used in conjunction with Stoneridge's Tacho Link dongle, which enables digital tachographs to connect with Android phones via Bluetooth.
